Best of Best (A Personal Narrative of Denziel Marie Frio 12 HUMSS Joy)

Thinking about the end of my high school life will made me feel sad. I did not think that the time to graduate would come soon enough. But now, that time is finally nearing. I cannot believe that it has come this fast.

I remember my first day as a senior high school here in Filamer Christian University, I was just dying to experience all the new and exciting things that awaited me. From exciting clubs, to meeting all different people, I just wanted to know what everything was like. Now that I have done all those things and many more, I am about to embark on a new adventure that will take me to many more new experiences. They say, high school was the best moment of our life, I would have to say my experience here in FCU was great. Of course there is always a downfall to things, and on certain days at certain times that downfall just came into play. School days are very much filled with excitement. I become matured enough to understand the value of time and I learned the value of hard work. This is the time when I started working hard.

My journey in high school has taught me everything,that you should always have self confidence and if you believe in yourself that you can reach your goals and achieve anything you want in life, good things will happen to you. Knowing that sooner, this chapter of mine in high school will end, it made me sad. These years has been an overall experience that I will never forget. Indeed, the high school days are the best of my life.

WHAT A MONTH! (Literary Journalism of Denziel Marie Frio 12 HUMSS Joy)

The year 2020 has only just begun, and lots of things have already happened. The world has already suffered by many natural disasters, tragedies, deaths, and a new virus outbreak. These disasters only happened in a first month of the year 2020.

UKRAINIANS PLANE CRASHED

On January 8, a plane was downed by the Iranian military, 176 people died on board. The plane was carrying 167 passengers and nine crew members from several countries, including 82 Iranians, many of whom were dual citizens, 57 Canadians and 11 Ukrainians. Iran took three days to admit that the Ukrainian plane was downed accidentally by its military.

BUSHFIRES IN AUSTRALIA

33 people have been killed and an estimated 1 billion native animals died on fire, 2,500 homes and a wilderness area have been destroyed. An ecological disaster that threatens several species, including koalas and rock wallabies. A burned kangaroos, koalas and possums, along with footage of people risking their lives to save native animals, have gone viral around the world.

CORONA VIRUS OUTBREAK

A new viral illness being watched with a wary eye around the globe spread in 25 countries, mostly in Asia. Infecting a thousands of people in a month. The World Health Organization (WHO) declared a global emergency over the spreading of coronavirus. In the face of the new deadly coronavirus, many countries have ramped up defenses against the contagion, sealing borders, shutting public places and clamping down on visitors from China.



TAAL VOLCANO ERUPTION

Taal Volcano, is the second on the most active volcano in the Philippines, it began erupting on Jan. 12, crushing scores of homes and killing livestock and crops. The explosive eruption forced over 135,000 people into shelters over fears of a massive blast. All homes are covered with ashes and some was destroyed, animals died, and plants and trees are covered by ashes because of the explosion.

FLOODS IN JAKARTA INDONESIA

At least 83 people in Jakarta and nearby cities were killed this month due to flooding. January saw the capital city's deadliest flooding in years, with Indonesia's disaster mitigation agency saying downpours that sparked floods and landslides were the heaviest in Jakarta since record-keeping began in the 19th century.


THE DEATH OF NBA SUPER STAR

On January 26,  the NBA legend Kobe Bryant died in a tragic helicopter crash near Los Angeles, California. Bryant's 13 year old daughter, Gianna Bryant, was also among the victims killed in the crash. The death of Bryant, a five-time NBA champion for the Los Angeles Lakers and double Olympic gold medalist, has shocked the whole world.

Take time to be happy, enjoy life because we cannot bring back time we just create memories. The first month of 2020 seems to bestow us different emotions, others can’t accept but some begin to look and ponder that life is beautiful after all. We had  many experiences and reflect lessons it brings.

We might not admit it to ourselves but most of circumstances in our lives we tend to believe on our own understanding. It's the ideal of complacency. We all have this kind of attitude that unfortunately one of the reason of our own downfall. There are some cases that says we shouldn't depend on people's understanding, moreover, there's a high-risk enclosed with complancency of one's own knowledge. Neither of the two guarantee us to a brighter path. We don't have much idea about inner pieces of every thing. We only noticed the bigger ones and considered it that we know everything. 

In our lives, I think there's always missing in every decision we make if we don't include God in it. His direction is a path to success and I realized through everyone's experience that those who have a strong and sincere faith receives more blessings and become successful than those who only made up plans depending on their knowledge. It's harder to face alone because it meant for retrial. I believe that it's okay to ask help through prayer. Prayer is our provision and God is the support machine. It give our life and soul safety.

I wandered my surroundings and see good future in the plans of the Lord. The verse of proverbs 3:5-6 lead us to the path that God has prepared for us to take. I want us to remember that the challenges we face on our journey will make us strong for upcoming ones. Life never goes out of hardships and the decision we make to come up a solution should be according to his will.
